Ezekiel 31: Lament for Pharaoh

Later in the eleventh year of exile, God told me to sing this lament for Pharaoh:

Mr. Big Stuff

Who do you think you are?

Mr. Big Stuff

You’re never gonna get God’s love.

Now because you wear that false beard, oh yeah,

And have a big chariot, Oh yes you do now.

Do you think God will still give you Its love?

You think you’re higher than every star above, oh yeah.

Mr. Big Stuff

Who do you think you are?

Mr. Big Stuff

You’re never gonna get God’s love.

Now I know all the nations you’ve treated with,

I know how you broke promises one after another now, bit by bit.

You made Judah lose, many nations lose,

When they called on you to send your warriors, when they called on you to give.

Mr. Big Stuff

Who do you think you are?

Mr. Big Stuff

You’re never gonna get God’s love.

God only loves nations that worship It true, oh yeah,

Than to suffer idolatrous fools like you.

Cuz when God loves, It wants complete devotion in return.

Now I know this is a lesson Mr. Big stuff hasn’t learned.

Mr. Big Stuff

Who do you think you are?

Mr. Big Stuff

You’re never gonna get God’s love.
