Psalm 85: After I say I’m sorry

I don’t know why I raised your ire.

I’m sorry, Yahweh, and yet

though you should’t be lenient with me,

I hope you’ll forgive and forget.

What can I say, God, after I say I’m sorry?

What can I do to prove to you I’m sorry?

I didn’t mean to ever be untrue to you.

If I didn’t care, I wouldn’t feel like I do.

I was all wrong, but right or wrong, you’ll blame me.

I know you’ll take somebody like me, and shame me.

I know I raised your ire and I’m sorry, God.

So what can I say, god, after I say I’m sorry?
