Then David made a plea for everyone to donate more materials and precious metals to the Temple fund, himself pledging, from his own personal treasure, an additional 107 of gold, and 264 tons of silver. So all the important people dug deep and pledged 187 tons of gold, 375 tons of silver, 675 tons of bronze and 3,750 tons of silver. (for anyone not keeping track, that’s a total of 669 tons of gold; 41,625 tons of silver; and apparently more bronze and iron than they had invented numbers for allotted to build the Temple).
Then Solomon was annointed king, so David prayed and blessed everyone, but most especially Solomon, and then they all sacrificed countless animals and had a huge BBQ.
(So that’s the end of I Chronicles. Tomorrow, we’ll have more of the same, with II Chronicles).
