Genesis 39: Joseph and Potiphar’s Wife

Meanwhile Joseph was bought by Potiphar, the Pharaoh’s captain of the guards. Joseph was a really good slave and eventually Potiphar made him the overseer in charge of running the whole house.

Unfortunately, Joseph was a hot young thing in the full flush of youth and Potiphar’s wife had a ken for some of that slaveboy action. No matter how many times Joseph told her no, she kept chasing after him. One day, she cornered him and yanked off his robe and started groping him. Joseph screamed and ran away.

Potiphar’s wife was livid at being rejected, so she called a bunch of the other slaves, showed them Joseph’s robe and accused him of attempting to rape her. When her husband came home, she told him the same story. Of course, Potiphar believed his wife and had Joseph thrown in prison, where he was such a model prisoner that in no time the head guard made him his deputy to help keep the prison in order.
